The Association of Environmental Promoters of Honduras (APAH, in Spanish) is a non-governmental organization that empowers Honduran communities, including youth, students, and community leaders, to enhance knowledge of environmental conservation, equity, and sustainable development throughout the country.
Managed by youth through a general assembly, under a board of directors, and with a membership composed of more than 200 young Environmental Promoters, APAH is based on the premise that a country's natural capital cannot be managed and conserved without the robust human capital necessary to diligently imagine, design, maintain, and lead current systems of protected areas, environmental policies, professional training, and community engagement.
To this end, and with a growing team of experts and a bold vision for the future, APAH works diligently with national and international partners to implement local, regional, and national conservation and development programs and projects through community engagement, especially among young people in rural areas or areas near the country's protected areas.
Additionally, APAH seeks to connect its youth members with job opportunities and advanced training to support their professional growth and continued impact.
